Set Up Your First Monitoring Term
Monitoring lets you tell Grid Monitor which words or phrases you want it to watch for across supported content. It is a good way to discover activity that may appear outside the specific items you already Follow.
Create a Monitoring Term
- Open Monitoring from the main navigation.
- Add a new term or phrase.
- Enter a focused keyword, company name, project name, technology, or regulatory phrase.
- Save the term.
- Review your Monitoring results and afternoon email for new matches.

Choose a Useful First Term
Specific phrases usually produce more useful results than broad single words. For example, "large load" is generally more useful than "load," and "data center" is more useful than "center."
- Topic: large load, resource adequacy, co-location
- Technology: battery storage, nuclear, distributed generation
- Organization: a client, competitor, utility, trade association, or developer
- Project: a facility, transmission project, or development name
- Regulatory phrase: behind-the-meter, interconnection agreement, load shed
TIP: For a high-priority issue, create a small set of related terms rather than one very broad keyword. You can refine the list as you see which phrases produce useful results.
